Inspiration Closet: One Bloom

There is something magical about the simplicity of a bouquet with a single type of bloom. Roses, in particular, are one of my favorites. I mean… this is just edible.

Inspiration Closet: A Rainy Day

If it rains on your wedding day, work with your photographer to make the very best of the moment. After seeing this photo from my friend’s November wedding, I actually hoped that it would rain on my wedding day! Then I immediately booked their photographer for my date, the amazing Liesl Clark of Claris Photography.

This is a great example of how to make the most of whatever weather comes your way…

Menu Moment: Buzz-Free Bubbly

There’s no need to leave out the kiddies and non-drinkers at toasting time thanks to a new non-alcoholic sparkling wine made from the juice of premium wine grapes. Available in Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Rosé, Vignette is unlike sparkling grape juice or sodas in that it has no added coloring, sugar or preservatives and actually tastes like wine.  Its subtle sweetness satisfies the palettes of sophisticates and youngsters alike, so you can serve up the best of wine country varietals – without the lingering effects of their fizzy counterparts.

Wear Again Wedding Dresses

Recessionistas rejoice!  In these economic times, wouldn’t it be nice to be able to wear your wedding gown more than once (without looking ridiculous)?  NY-based designer Sioloonim offers a couture line of white silk taffeta blouses and floor-length silk skirts that – when paired together – create a one-of-a-kind look for wedding dresses.  As an added bonus, brides can get more mileage out of the top, which is simple and chic enough to be worn again for a night on the town with skinny jeans and stilettos or to the office with a pencil skirt and pumps.

Things We Love: Bird Tweets

Turn wedding favors into a thoughtful way to honor friends and loved ones with ceramic Bird Notes.  Hand-crafted and painted in Peru by female artisans, the colorful birds are about the size of a grape and come with a small blank scroll rolled inside the belly, upon which you can write a short personal note to each guest. The tiny birds, which can also be purchased unpainted then decorated to match your wedding colors, will make a pretty picture when arranged on a favor table or even tied with ribbon to a tree at an outdoor wedding.
