Give your group the opportunity to experience The Field Museum, Chicago’s most elegant and unique setting! The Field Museum, overlooking beautiful Lake Michigan and Chicago’s breathtaking skyline, is located less than a mile from downtown Chicago.

Guests entering Stanley Field Hall are greeted by gleaming white marble interiors, sky lit vaulted ceilings, and stately columns—complete with Sue, the largest, most complete, best-preserved Tyrannosaurus rex fossil yet discovered. Sue stands majestically in the north end of our elegant and stately grand hall. Explore world–class exhibitions, while enjoying cocktails in the balcony or dining in the grand hall. With 35 world-renowned, permanent exhibitions, The Field Museum offers your guests the chance to explore almost every corner of the globe and its treasures. Learn about the cultures of Africa and its natural environments, including a view of the infamous man-eating Lions of Tsavo. Unlock the secrets of tombs and mummies in Inside Ancient Egypt. Stanley Field Hall & Balcony can accommodate up to 1,500 guests for a seated dinner and up to 7,500 guests for cocktails. We have a number of areas that are ideally suited for your silent auction, as well as a wonderful natural marble dance floor for guests to enjoy your first rate entertainment.

Our newest event space, the East Atrium and Pavilion, showcases the building’s architectural splendor while providing space for 350 guests for a seated dinner and up to 500 for cocktails. Stand toe–to–paw with the man-eater of Mfuwe—the largest man-eating lion on record. Rice Hall, which features our Mammals of Asia and Lions of Tsavo exhibits, accommodates 140 guests for a seated dinner and up to 300 guests for cocktails. The outside terraces, also available for rental, feature picturesque settings on the newly landscaped museum campus. By combining a variety of event areas, a full museum rental can offer space for up to 15,000 guests. Choose from our exclusive caterers and floral/décor providers to help make your event perfect. A Special Events Account Manager is immediately assigned upon contracting with The Field Museum to ensure a smooth and successful event. We understand the importance of communication and responsiveness and will work with you to assist in any way we can.
