The Bride:

The Stage:

The ceremony and reception took place at Rucker Place, listed on the National Register of Historic Places . Built in 1900 by Civil War General Edumnd Winchester Rucker as a wedding gift for his daughter, the quintessential southern mansion boasts wrap-around porches and a picturesque garden setting.

A Question for You:

One Friday afternoon, the couple’s Yorkie, Max, greeted Chaney at the door after work. This time, however, Chaney got more than a simple “hello” from her dog.

Today he was adorned with a note around his neck – the note said, “My daddy has a question for you.
And of course, her answer was “yes!”

The Planning:

Of course, being from the south - where college football is more a way of life than it is a game - settling on a date for a Saturday wedding in the Fall can be tricky. The couple first had to check the SEC football schedule for a date that worked for Auburn and Alabama fans alike, for a wedding a big rivalry game would be sacrilege.

Chaney envisioned an outdoor ceremony, and the Historic Rucker Place had the perfect garden with an arbor.

Simple Romance:

Chaney and Chris built their event around the concept of romance and simplicity. Generous use of candle light set the desired ambiance.

Looking Back:

“The day came and went so quickly, after all of the stresses of planning, it truly ended up a perfect day,” Chaney says. The weather was beautiful, and everyone was so happy for us. It was a celebration of love.
